THE UNTOLD TRUTH ABOUT ESKOM


Eskom is South Africas energy supply established in 1923. Eskom is a 100% state owned. Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd has the Government of the Republic of South Africa as its sole shareholder, with the shareholder representative being the Minister of Public Enterprises. And currently the minister is Mr Pravin Gordhan 

According to Google The DPE 'undertakes shareholder oversight for Government and is currently instructed by the Executive Authority to oversee core strategic State-Owned Companies.' Mr. Pravin Gordon was appointed by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018.

The problem of Eskom is load shedding which started in the year of 2008. Weekly different provinces experience rolling blackouts. 

Load shedding started late 2007 because the demand for electricity was to high and energy supply couldn't keep up, then in 2008 Eskom was forced to introduce rolling blackouts to protect integrity of the grip. 

Rolling blackouts is now 16 years old and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. There was no load shedding in 2016 and 2017. Now South Africa is in stage 2 of Rolling blackouts.

According to Julias Malema, EFF leader, "The target is South African Airways. It is Eskom. They want to buy those things and the Roberts will buy them. The Oppenheimers will buy them." Said Julias Malems. 

Eskom had a rapid growth in the 1960s and 80s and growing into being the biggest energy supply in Africa. In 2021, 200 billion was generated but ended with a loss of 19 billion. 

Megawatts is 1 million watts and a kilowatt is 1000 watts. One megawatts can supply hundreds and thousands of houses. 

Eskom bought Victoria falls and transfer power company in 1948. 

From 1960 to 1990 Eskom increased power capacity from 4000 megawatts to 40000 Megawatts to keep up with the economic growth In the 1960s and 70s. 

Then Eskom established powerplants that would produce power at a low cost. Know as 6 pack. Six large generator units

Years back it was revealed that 38 Americans are working illegally at South Africa state owned power company. 
 
The publication Washington post reported that U.S officials believed these skilled Americans 'Nuclear reactors' were violating federal non proliferation law for working without authorization from the minister of energy
